FASTag, India’s electronic toll collection system, will now have an annual pass option for the frequent commuters.


Last week, the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways of India, announced that FASTag Annual Pass for ₹3,000, would be available from 15 August 2025.


This pass would make travel on highways for frequent and long-distance commuters, more convenient and economical.



Details about the Annual Pass

  • Price: ₹3,000

  • Date: 15 August 2025 onwards

  • For: non-commercial private vehicles

  • Validity: Travel toll free for 200 trips OR one year from activation date, whichever is earlier


However, this pass is only applicable on toll plazas operated by NHAI and not on tolls on state highways, private-run toll roads, and state-run expressways.


Also, each annual FASTag pass would be linked to a particular vehicle and cannot be transferred to other vehicles.



Eligibility

  • Non-commercial, personal vehicle like a car or jeep

  • The vehicle should already have an active FASTag on its windshield.

  • FASTag of the vehicle should be linked to a valid Vehicle Registration Number (VRN)

  • It should not be blacklisted or under dispute.



How / Where to buy?

The pass can be purchased 15 August 2025 onwards through:

  • the Rajmarg Yatra mobile application

  • NHAI website

  • the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) website.
